    2. Trips/Outings

On Tuesday, May 15th, there will be a Worldwide Photo Event called “A Day in the World.” This happening is being touted as the single largest one day documentary project ever. All photos included in the project must be taken on the 15th.
The focus of this project is to show people from all over the world in their everyday lives, whether at work or play, in a positive light or negative, posed or in a natural setting. To participate, you must register at www.aday.org and create a profile. There will be several categories and you can submit up to 10 images. Images should be keyworded for easy searching and contain info about who, what, where and when. This is open to all photographers.

I have added the RRPA as an associate group to the project. Go to http://www.aday.org to learn more. We are registered as a team under RRPA, which means that when you are keywording your photos you should add RRPA to them so that all of our photos can be seen as a group. There is also a Facebook page at www.facebook.com/adayorg .

We will have an RRPA Photo Outing that day, meeting at the Denny’s on William St in Cape to gather and plan where we will be going. Start thinking about who or what you want to shoot. You can also post your shots here on this site.

Please post your images in this thread (from your gallery preferably, but if you do not know to, just get them here from anywhere, including using the BB code from photos on Flickr)

Please remember you can also use your smart phone with tapatalk or forumrunner to post images in this thread.

    2. Trips/Outings

We will be traveling to Hickory Canyon and Hahn State Park (and possibly Pickle Springs) on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at 8:00 a.m.

We will leave the Cape Girardeau Conservation Center parking lot to caravan to the parks.

If there are enough early birds interested, we may organize a group heading up there to catch the early morning light that is best for photography. This group would leave somewhere between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m.

The next meeting will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Public Library.

Bill Brennan has offered to talk about his method of capturing hummingbird's wings without blur by using multiple flashes and proven techniques. We will probably also have shots from members that have been to Yellowstone this summer with SEMO and on their own.
